Epoxy will stick to concrete the best, and for this reason is probably the most common type of garage floor paint. Polyurethane does the best for protection against compound spills. It leaves a very shiny finish to your floor. Make sure that you apply a primer coat if you choose polyurethane however, as this is required in order for it to stick to the concrete. Finally you can consider latex. Latex is by far cheaper than the other two types of paint. It doesn’t do very well with a lot of heat, though. Also it takes at least 3 days to fully dry once you have painted it on. Don’t walk or park on it before it’s completely dry. One cool thing about latex though is that you can by paint that resembles wood and other types of surfaces. This gives a pretty cool look to your garage floor. So those are various garage floor coating options that you have.

The other options that you have are garage floor mats and garage floor tiles. Garage floor mats are nice because you can move them around as needed. You aren’t stuck with them in any one spot and they can be cleaned. Garage floor mats are awesome because they protect your garage floor against ugly oil leaks and other types of leaks from your car. Garage floor tiles can be used as an alternative as well. They usually come with adhesive already on the back side so all you have to do is take them out of the package and stick them to your garage floor! Sounds easy right? Right!

Well whether you decide to use a garage floor mat, garage floor paint, or garage floor tiles, you’ll be happily surprised with how easy all of these methods are to protect your garage floor from unwanted leaks and spills. It’s always better to prevent a problem than trying to fix a problem. Also, don’t forget about making sure your garage door matches your garage floor! If you go with a latex paint that has a wooden feel, you could get custom wooden garage doors. This would go great with any carport.
