A lot of people who buy chandeliers lighting these days will not have been owners of these great types of light in the past. When you get something with an intricate and large design like this, you realize that they look great but they can be real magnets for dust. Cleaning them isn’t too hard if you know what you are doing.

The most important thing to do is to not leave your chandelier to get absolutely caked in dust. If you don’t keep on top of the build up of dust you will find that you have a real job on your hands to get your light back to its former glory.

At least once a week, give your chandelier a quick dust with a feather duster. This is something that is delicate enough to not damage your chandelier, and they are great for just quickly removing the surface layer of dust. You can either tape one to a broom handle or you can get ones with extend-able handles.

You don’t need any special materials to give your chandelier a proper clean, you just need a bit of warm water with washing up liquid in it and a lint free cloth. Soak the cloth in the water and then wring it out so it is just damp. Make sure you do this properly as the last thing that you want to do is to get water in electrical equipment. Clean each droplet of the chandelier thoroughly.

If you want to add a bit of sparkle back to your light you can use a glass cleaner on the droplets to polish them up once you have remove the excess dirt. I wouldn’t recommend that you spray this directly on to the chandelier shades, instead it is best to put it on a cloth and clean from there.
